April 2 (UPI) -- Hollywood is mourning the death of Top Gun and Willow star Val Kilmer at the age of 65. Kilmer's cause of death Tuesday was pneumonia, according to his daughter Mercedes. He had battled throat cancer, which robbed him of his voice, for more than a decade.
The actor was known for his roles in hit films including "Top Gun," "Batman Forever," "The Doors" and Michael Mann's "Heat."
It was a shock to find this out," festival founder Nino Simone said on Wednesday of Kilmer, who died of pneumonia at age 65.
