Penn State tight end Tyler Warren added to the Nittany Lions' Heisman Trophy legacy Saturday, finishing seventh in the voting for college football's most famous award. Warren received one first-place vote and became the first tight end to finish in the award's top 10 since 1977.

Outside of the top four invited to New York, Army's Bryson Daily finished sixth and Arizona State's Cam Skattebo finished fifth

Warren finished seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting, it was revealed Friday night. Warren is the first Penn State player to finish in the top 10 of the Heisman voting since Saquon Barkley placed fourth in 2017. He is only the second Penn State tight end to ever crack the top 10, joining Ted Kwalick in 1968.

Penn State tight end Tyler Warren was officially recognized as the best at his position on Thursday night. Warren was named the winner of this year’s Mackey Award, which is awarded to the nation’s top tight end in college football by the Nassau County Sports Commission.

The John Mackey Award voters agreed. Tyler Warren was the best tight end in the country this season. Penn State’s star won the Mackey at Thursday night’s national awards show, beating out Bowling Green’s Harold Fannin and Michigan’s Colston Loveland.
