As Bashar al-Assad 's rule collapsed in Syria , Iranian authorities watched in surprise and shock as the rebels advanced across the country in less than two weeks, taking cities one by one with little to no resistance. Hezbollah lost its most important supply route from Iran through Syria with the fall of dictator Bashar al-Assad, the group’s chief admitted Sunday.

The loss of the route through Syria is a blow to the Lebanese militia and its most important ally, Tehran.

The leader of the Lebanese Iran-backed Hezbollah militia, Naim Qassem, on Saturday admitted that his group had lost a supply route after the overthrow of the allied regime of Bashar al-Assad in neighbouring Syria.
