After the Friday morning storms in Philadelphia, conditions dry out a bit ahead of yet another weather maker for the weekend.

ALPENA — Michigan Lt.Governor Garlin Gilchrist visited Alpena today to review the damage from the powerful ice storm that has crippled the area since last weekend. Gilchrist made a stop at the MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena and met with hospital officials to receive updates on patient care and operations.

Damage assessment is underway. Reeves said at least 60 homes were damaged across five counties: Benton, Bolivar, Marshall, Tate and Tippah counties. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is in contact with officials in those counties to assist with recovery.
