Sony may not be done making Spider-Man movies quite yet even after the poor box office performance of Kraven the Hunter.

With a dismal box office outlook, “Kraven the Hunter” may add to Sony’s list of Spider-Man spinoffs that failed to capture audiences, including “Madame Web” and “Morbius.”

A new report claims to reveal more about Sony's approach to its Marvel Universe, offering an explanation as to why Spider-Man never appeared in the likes of Venom, Morbius, and now Kraven the Hunter.

Luckily for Spider-Man fans, there are multiple villains introduced for the first time in “Kraven the Hunter.” Fred Hechinger plays the master of disguise Chameleon; Alessandro Nivola is the super-strong Rhino; Christopher Abbott is the mercenary the Foreigner; and Ariana DeBose is the mystical Calypso.

The latest and most likely last live-action spin-off flick for Sony’s unfortunate cinematic universe is limping towards a humiliating opening weekend with scathing reviews (including IGN’s), marking an ignominious end for what’s been one of the worst years ever for the superhero genre.
