Hundreds gathered in downtown San Antonio on Wednesday night to protest the continued U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations of undocumented immigrants.

Gov. Abbott deployed Texas National Guard soldiers to SA in advance of the demonstrations. City officials urged participants to remain peaceful.

Numerous arrests have occurred in San Antonio in the past few months as part of President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration.

Tuesday morning, a Bolivian woman and her children were taken into custody. Her Cuban husband told reporters his wife and two children were taken. He also said the youngest who is over a year old is American.

Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai said all county offices and departments are closing early Wednesday ahead of ICE protests near San Antonio's downtown area.
