OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is planning to make a $1 million personal donation to President-Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund, joining a number of tech companies and executives who are working to improve their relationships the incoming administration.

OpenAI’s top executive and AI search startup Perplexity are each donating $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund, a sign that artificial intelligence companies are trying to firm up relationships with the incoming administration.

Amazon said that it was planning to donate $1 million to President-elect Donald J. Trump’s inaugural fund, part of a pattern in which tech companies and their leaders are taking steps to repair their relationships with him.
