A recent rally in front of South Korea’s National Assembly in Seoul, calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol, was notably led by women in their 20s and 30s. Approximately one in three participants was a woman from this age group.

After a first failed attempt, the South Korean National Assembly ended the president's term, guilty of having attempted a coup de force by declaring martial law on the night of December 3 to 4.

Jubilant crowds celebrated in Seoul, South Korea after the National Assembly passed a motion 204-85 to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol. Protests against Yoon had been intensifying since a short-lived declaration of martial law on 3 December.
