The Hall of Fame selection became the second and final driver to capture the Winston Million in 1997 at Darlington, winning that year’s Southern 500. By the time he did retire, Gordon had seven Darlington wins to his name. Six of them were earned in the Southern 500. Overall at Darlington, Gordon recorded 19 top-five finishes and 23 top-10s.
