Two fires are now burning in western North Carolina's McDowell County, just four months after it was hard-hit by Hurricane Helene.

McDowell County on the North Fork Fire, which has grown to 200 acres and is 20% contained. McDowell County Emergency Services first reported the fire at about 4 p.m. Jan. 29 in the area of Good Road in the Woodlawn Community of Marion.

Evacuation orders in McDowell County, NC, were lifted after the Crooked Creek Fire was 55% contained; it had prompted several neighborhoods to evacuate.
