Jim Carrey could potentially be seen in the iconic green mask once again. The actor recently revealed to Comicbook.com that he would be open to reprising his role in a sequel to his 1994 comedy The Mask.

The voice cast includes Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow. Live-action actors include Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Krysten Ritter, Natasha Rothwell, Lee Majdoub, Tom Butler, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore and Alyla Browne.

Jim Carrey made his film comeback as he has blown through his savings. The Mask actor, 62, has recently stepped out of the limelight to paint and indulge his love of philosophy, but has reprised his role as villain Dr Robotnik in the upcoming semi-animated action movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

The iconic comedian and actor opened up about his decision during an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Carrey has multiple roles in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3, ” and also portrays his villain’s grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. Director Jeff Fowler told SFX magazine in November, “For him to create a whole new character within the world was certainly an exciting opportunity, and he just went all in.”
