One of the lawyers for the young woman raped by Denis Coulson and two other rugby players has said the sentences handed down to the three men has sent a strong signal to the world of rugby.

IRISH rugby player Denis Coulson is facing trial this week in France accused of raping a student in a hotel in 2017.

The victim had met the players in a club on a drunken night out but said she had no recollection of how she ended up naked on a bed with them in a hotel room.

On the final day of a two-week trial and ahead of the verdicts, protestors had gathered from early morning outside La Cours d'Asisses in Bordeaux.
