Just last week, reports again surfaced saying Mercedes-AMG would be putting a V8 in the C63 once again, along with a refresh for 2026. These reports came along with the news that AMG was building a new V8. This time instead of the traditional 4.0-liter unit Benz has been using for years, it was going to move to a flat-plane crank design.

It’s only been a week since Autocar reported the Mercedes-AMG C63 would switch from its four-cylinder PHEV powertrain to a V8, but a new report from Wards Auto is already splashing cold water on the idea.

Among the new models will also be a conceptual supercar we should see by the middle of this year, and it is said to be all-electric! The new thundering ocho will replace the current model's controversial four-cylinder engine and still get electric hybrid assist.

Mercedes will reportedly unveil an electric supercar concept later this year. The mysterious model could have a solid state battery and axial-flux motors. The supercar is expected to be the fastest-accelerating AMG ever created.

We’ll believe it when we see it, but the Mercedes-AMG C 63 might be reunited with its beloved V-8 as soon as 2026.
