Q:
Is the skip the line ticket worth it?
A:
Have no idea. We went late in the day and there was no lineup. Everything moved smoothly. That was in September so there may be lineups in the busy summer months.

I can't help you with the weather in October; the twice I've been to the Castle was during summer. The walk to the castle from the carpark is a few hundred metres and once you're past the souvenir shops, the pathway does have a medium gradient. However, you can take your time walking up. The steps to the entrance of the castle are a little steep, but if there are no crowds, take your time. As for inside, places to sit and rest are few and far between, but if a portable stool is small there should be somewhere available. However, if crowded, you will be pushed along by the queue of people, with little opportunity to get out of their way.

No. it was hard to bring trollies for small kids we ended up walking as there is no particular path/access for wheelchairs. the steps were a approx 30mins walk from the parking to the main entrance. advisable to walk without special aid.
Q:
Is it allowed with the dog?
A:
You can go into the grounds with a dog. I sat in the coffee bar with ours, then changed over with my husband
